Aurora student receives 4.0 GPA At Indiana University
Colin Dusek of Aurora received a 4.0 and made the Dean’s List for the second straight semester at Indiana University, where he is majoring in Media with a concentration in Film, TV, and Digital Production.

Aurora student named to New York Tech’s presidential honor list
Mike Zhou of Aurora (60502) was named to the Spring 2024 Presidential Honor List at New York Institute of Technology.
To qualify for the Presidential Honor List, a student must achieve a minimum semester GPA of 3.7 and complete at least 12 credit hours without any incomplete grades.

Aurora student embarks on study abroad program in Germany
Sam Rueda of Aurora (60504) was among 25 students who participated in BW’s faculty-led study abroad program in Germany in May.
Rueda, a graduate of Metea Valley High School majoring in pre-allied health/pre-physical therapy, completed a three-week experience led by Dr. Amy Jo Sutterluety, professor of allied health, sport and wellness, and Dr. Andrew Dohanos, professor of communication arts and sciences. The program allowed students to explore the theory and the praxis of intercultural communication by immersing themselves in the language and culture of Germany. Students spent time in Berlin and Munich, where they visited German sites of world, historical and cultural significance while learning how to stay healthy and practice wellness abroad.

University of Alabama summer 2024 dean’s list includes Aurora student
Ashley Bisconti was named to The University of Alabama Deans List for Summer Semester 2024.
A total of 501 students enrolled during Summer Semester 2024 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). These driven students are making waves across UA’s more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.
The UA dean’s and president’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Aurora student joins Raikes School at Nebraska
Aurora native Gannett Bishop, a recent graduate of Oswego East High School, is among 42 students who have been selected to join the latest cohort of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management. It is the largest cohort in the history of the Raikes School, which was founded in 1999.
The 2024 cohort includes 27 students from Nebraska and 15 students from Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Texas.
“This cohort, besides being the largest in the Raikes School’s history, includes seven students who earned a perfect score on the ACT,” said Adam Britten, the school’s director of recruitment and student success. “These students are exceptionally talented and bring their own unique story and potential to change the world, and we look forward to supporting them in their incredible achievements ahead.”
